Maasai Mara National Reserve (Maasai Mara) is situated in south-west Kenya and is one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves.

It is an area of preserved savannah wilderness in southwestern Kenya, along the Tanzanian border. Its animals include lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras and hippos. Wildebeest traverse its plains during their annual migration. The landscape has grassy plains and rolling hills, and is crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers. The area nearby is dotted with villages (enkangs) of Maasai people

Maasai Mara National Reserve stretches 1,510 sq km (580 sq miles) and raises 1,500-2,170 meters above sea level. Add the conservancies and the area is at least twice the size. It hosts over 95 species of mammals and over 570 recorded species of birds.

Wildebeest Migration: Make sure you have your safari booked planned out that includes the Maasai Mara. The wildebeest migration is nothing short of amazing. It is one of the things you have do add to your bucket list. Best time to be in Kenya for it is JULY – OCTOBER although Kenya is a great year round destination.

Enjoy watching the rich diversity of wild game. Spot the black manned lions, elephants, rhino, cheetah, leopard, buffaloes and antelopes. Experience the rich culture of the Maasai people by visiting one of their Villages.

    Hi Jontas,

We found you via Viator and we would like to get some information.
We arrive in Kenya 26th of August. We would like to go to Masai Mara and Nakuru and we wonder if you could make us a proposition for this? We are 2 persons and we were thinking to go from airport straight to Masai Mara, have an evening game drive and te next day full day of game drive. The 3rd day we would like to do a few more cultural things, like visiting a Masai village, get to know about culture and customs of the Masai. 4th day we were thinking to head to Nakuru to make a game drive and after that we would like to be dropped of at Navaisha to do do some independent travel.
We are also open to other suggestions.
Is it possible to make us an offer? Can we choose ourselves the camps where we stay? (We are budget travellers)

    Many thanks
    Kr
    Marijke and Miguel
